Our love for farming developed early on in each of our childhoods as we both grew up on fruit and vegetable farms. We watched our parents labour in love and perseverance, living off of the land and raising large families in the most resourceful way possible. Our parents embodied tremendous teamwork – sharing the responsibilities of physical labour and excellent communication. As children, we learned the significance of hard work, family togetherness and the joy that comes from a simple “home grown” life.

Our decision to pursue a path towards farming began in 1990 after the passing of Abe’s father. We married in 1993 and subsequently took over the Fehr family farm in 1994. We have since followed in the footsteps of Abe’s father – mainly growing strawberries and cucumbers. Over the years we have also added a large variety garden which has cultivated a desire for our sons to get their hands dirty, learn business practices and try their hand at their grandparents’ legacy.

At Fehr Grown, we pride ourselves in a creating a personal hands on experience for our customers. Building a relationship with our customers is key and we highly value the emphasis on Buy Local, Buy Fresh.

We are strongly committed to continuing education and research in order to provide the best quality of produce possible. We are driven to using natural inputs, and where possible organic ingredients to harvest nutrient-dense produce for our customers. Fortunately, our family has always been concerned with preserving the land and the soil.

Our Fehr Grown family includes Abe & Anita Fehr and sons, Kieran and Nevan. Some of our best memories are made in the dirt.
